Program #3 – Pictures 2008
New Jersey students
explore the intersection of music and visual art:
Becoming one of New Jersey's premiere Composition
Contests, NJ students are
asked to compose music inspired by visual art exhibited in the
Montclair Art Museum. Guest artist, Halcyon Trio (clarinetist, Andrew Lamy,
violist, Brett Deubner and pianist, Gary Kirkpatrick) will
perform duets written by the students. In addition, the Halycon
Trio will premiere the 2008 Ionisation Commission, a new work by New
Jersey's own Christian Carey.
