New Jersey students explore the intersection of music and visual art

For the sixth annual edition of one of New Jersey's premiere Composition Contests, NJ students are asked to compose music inspired by visual art exhibited in the Montclair Art Museum -
Will Barnet's Inauguration (2009).  Guest artist, trio@play will perform flute, clarinet and piano pieces written by the students.  In addition, trio@play will premiere the 2011 Ionisation Commission, a brand new work by top NJ composer, Darren Gage.
